Three Questions to Create Clarity on your Healing Journey

September 7, 2018

Clarity. We would all love more of it in our lives and for many of us that involves a level of uncertainty in our health and well-being. I would like to offer you three questions to reflect on to help yourself find more precision in exactly what is happening from your own point of view. You are your best health advocate. No one knows you better. So, I would invite you to find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for about 20-30 minutes (longer if you would like). Close your eyes and reflect on the questions and be as honest as you can. If you can’t be truthful with yourself, then it will be MUCH harder to move into a healthier pattern in the future.

1. How do I view my physical, mental and emotional states in regards to my current health situation?  Reflect on each state for a period of time.

Now on the surface this may seem like an easy question. Of course, I am this way or that way, you may say. However, if you really take some time to check into these deeper feelings you can begin to find out more about the underlying thoughts, judgments and feelings that are influencing your healing potential. If you would like to truly create a healing pattern for yourself, then you need to get really clear about what is blocking your movement forward and this means diving deep into the thick of it all.

A few helpful follow up questions to support your reflection:

- When did I first notice these feelings, thoughts and sensations? How old was I?

- Do I feel that I am stuck in that time frame at some level?

- Would I described myself as hopeful or hopeless in this moment?

2. What is the main reason(s) I feel blocked at this juncture?

After getting some clarity about the thoughts and feelings, it is important to see what, in your best viewpoint, is getting in the way of moving forward. If you would like, you can write down a list of reasons if there feel like more than one. After making your list, notice the energy that each one holds in you.

A few helpful follow up questions to support your reflection:

- Are your reasons creating more feelings or judgments?  What are they?

- What would it mean to you if you couldn’t overcome these reasons?

- Why do you feel so challenged by these?

3. What one thing, however small, could I do TODAY to give me some peace of mind and move my healing forward?

One of the best ways to move forward, even with a small step, is to take some action. Sadly, nothing ever got changed by simply sitting and worrying about it.  Perhaps, you could make another list of things to do that might help. Now, I said MIGHT help because, you don’t need to have the answers now.  All you simply do is begin to work with an energy of eliminating possibilities.  By making a list and beginning to work through it, you begin to try new things, meet new people and get closer and closer to what you dream about. No one can promise you that everything will work out perfectly, but in this journey of life, we have to keep moving in order to find out where we need to be.

A few helpful follow up questions to support your reflection:

- Do I need support from someone to complete any of the tasks?  What kind of support physical, financial, emotional, etc.?

- Can I break down some of the tasks to aid in them getting completed?  How might that look?

- Can I remember to celebrate all the little successes along the way?  Success = taking action to support your health and vitality regardless of outcome.

Be willing to take some time to dive into the situation you are experiencing now is vital if you hope to know how to manoeuvre out of it. After all, you can’t know where you are going until you know where you are.
