MEDICAL QIGONG
What is Qigong?
Let's break it down into its different components:
"Qi" (pronounced chee), means
air, breath of life, or vital energy
that flows through all things in
the universe.
"Gong" (pronounced gung, as in
lung) means the skill of working
with, or cultivating, self-discipline
and achievement.
So, Qigong is the skillful practice of applying life-force energy and learning to master it. This is the basis of all forms of Qigong from Martial to Medical.
Medical Qigong is one of the 4 branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine along with Acupuncture, Herbal Therapy and Chinese Massage.
More than 5,000 years ago, the ancient Chinese masters of esoteric healing came to the understanding that everything is composed of the same energetic substance, which they called Qi ("chee"). These ancient masters observed that there is a oneness and wholeness in all existence and that everything is energetically interconnected as one body.
Medical Qigong is a multifaceted way of working with this healing energy. It uses the power of intention and concentration to access the wisdom within. Using movement, healing sound and/or light and meditation, Medical Qigong begins the process of shifting out the negative Qi and re-invigorating the body's normal positive Qi.
