MOVEMENT- BASED EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY

Movement-Based Expressive Arts Therapy brings imagination and creative expression into the counselling process.  It bridges the gap between the conscious and the sub-conscious mind. Expressing oneself through movement and art has been used throughout time to help individuals, communities and cultures to identify, confront, release, change and grow though their conflicts and issues.

On a personal level, open exploration of oneself through creative expression invites in the chance to move the issue out into a different forum beyond the mind and words and into the body where many of the emotions and imagery are held. This creates a "playful" way to engage the heaviest of issues in a non-judgmental environment.

As a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSMT), I am certified in the Tamalpa Life/Art Process and Movement Coaching receiving my education from the Tamalpa Institute in Kentfield, California graduating in 2007.
